Poker in Texas operates under a unique legal structure, and The Lucky Lodge, a membership-based poker club, follows all requirements to provide a safe poker environment that is fully compliant. Under Texas poker laws, games are legal when three key conditions are met: The game is played in a private place, only members have access, and the house does not take a percentage of the pot or 'rake.' Unlike casinos, we do not take any portion of the winnings. Instead, The Lucky Lodge operates as a membership-based social club, where players pay for access to the facility and for their seat time. To stay compliant, we charge a simple hourly seat fee—not a 'rake,' not a 'ping,' and not a cut of the pot. This ensures every game stays player-versus-player, just as the law requires. All prize money stays exactly where it should: with the players. This model allows us to offer a fun, fair, and legally compliant poker environment right here in Bryan, Texas.
